I was driving home today and this asshole in a Ford Expedition threw a soda can out his window! A minute later he threw a cigarette box out! WTF is wrong with these people? Why do some feel they have the right to shit all over the environment? :mad:

...as hell. I've thought of actually following them and handing their 'throw-aways' back to them, saying, "Here, you dropped this..."

Although highway trash would be a little more difficult to recover at 60 mph...

3. I've been snorkeling up at Pinecrest Lake

The amount of garbage at the bottom of the lake is disgusting. This time I didn't have a way of collecting the garbage, but I should pack in a couple of garbage bags next time. This time I collected six lures and a bunch of hooks. Next time I think I'll pack out the beer cans and discarded food wrappers at the bottom of the lake.

On the way up to the lake, I saw someone throw a cigarette out of a moving car. Number One: that's littering! Number 2: it's summer. You don't throw a burning item out of your window in the middle of a dry forest.

I am so with you on this. I ALWAYS pack out my trash and dude! I have diabetes and degenerative disc disease. I'm hiking to improve my health, but I REFUSE to desecrate nature.

On edit: trash bags probably aren't easy to swim with. I probably need some kind of netted bag.

5. We have fines like that here in New York

However, i don't think they are always enforced.
