This morning I heard that women's shoe sizes are getting bigger
as a result of women being more athletic, and getting more exercise.

It seems that the increased activity stimulates bone growth.

The poor women below were victims of their day (and culture).

I'll gladly take big feet over this alternative:

1. Blame me for skewing it.
Two pregnancies pushed me from a 10 to a 10 1/2. I did it! And I'm not sorry!

12. You know what they say about the size of a woman's feet...
that women with bigger feet don't fall as often as those of us with small feet. Yup that's right, I have the bruises to prove it. I have also learned how to fall and not break anything. ;-) :hippie: =^. .^=

7. Marketing strategy
Over the course of your life, your feet expand but people go in and ask for the same size shoe they had ten years ago. The answer for shoe makers is to make the size bigger. Then it "fits" when the customer insists on the wrong size.

8. My Girlfriends' Grandmother
grew up in China. Her parents bound her feet because they wanted her to marry into money. But she put up such a fuss that the parents relented and took the bindings off.

10. Long Live Birkenstocks!
I gave up trying to wear fashionable shoes in my 20s. Now in my 50s, my feet are still happy I did! ;-)

Isn't it obvious just how close to the ancient Chinese practice of wrapping feet is to those pointy, high heels shoes, that women have been told would make them sexy, are! :hippie:

11. I wore a size 8 in college
and now it's more like a 9 1/2 or a 10 (a 10 is REALLY comfie, and just a tad big).

I thought it was weird, but just decided my feets have spread.

No biggie. It's my BUTT spreading I'm trying to do something about.
