Poll question: Why does Matcom always call me kiddo?

It hit me, but I realized yesterday that every time I see Matcom again, he says, "How ya doing kiddo?" I don't mind, I have to wonder (and I'm in a negative mood today, so I'm trying to think of something funny so I don't have to be negative).
