... because I often feel like I'm auto-pilot. I'm not really conscious of what I'm doing... it just happens automatically. The events of the past three and a half years have just stunned me to the point where I constantly feel dazed. Out of control.

It's gotten to the point where (like a well-known DUer) nothing shocks me anymore. I feel drugged. Out of it.

Is this a form of self-protection. An insulation from reality?
