I had to break down and apply for credit to buy a lawn tractor today
I rent a nice little house with a humungous yard. One of the conditions of my rent, it's lower than market value, is that I maintain this enormous expanse of grass. I tried both kinds of walk behind, McLargehuge propelled and self propelled and worked out a system to where it only took 9 hours a week to get the lawn in shape.

But, the lawn being what it is, killed both the McLargehuge propelled and the self propelled mowers this week. I guess 9 hours a week is too much... Who knows. At any rate after spending several hours struggling to get either machine working, I broke down and went to Sears.

gulp...

The scary part is I actually got credit. I've never been good with credit, and the last two years I have worked with a credit councelling service to correct some past blunders of magestic proportions.

Let's hope I've learned something in these last few years and can pay the tractor off quickly without having to sacrifice food or heat.

1. take comfort in the knowledge
that you're not the only one who has made credit blunders of awe-inspiring scale...enjoy your tractor!

2. I do
it just seemed so alien to apply for credit. I haven't even touched a "credit" card in almost 4 years. I pay for everything in cash or via AMEX, then pay the AMEX off in cash on the billing date.

Still have a goof 18 months of credit councelling payments to make too...

I feel defeated.

On the upside, I will have my lawn cut in less than three hours now.
