A question for computer buffs
When I scan pics to put on photobucket sometimes they scan as jpg and sometimes they scan as tif. I use HP photo and imaging. How can I make them all scan as jpg so I can put them on photobucket ? I'm not real good on the computer. Any suggestions anyone ?

1. Save as...
...on my HP when I select "Save as file" under Scan And...once I click "accept" a window pops up so I can name the file AND select the format of the file - there you can select JPEG or TIF or PICT.

2. Not familiar with your software but
there should be a bar at the bottom of the dialogue box which says "save as.." w/ the ability to scroll options for the file format you want to save your file in. You should be able to scroll to .jpg as one of the options.

3. Need more info
When you save the pic, look at the field below the file name. Does it say "file type" or "save as..." or "type" or what?

In Windows applications there is almost always a box below where you enter the file name that allows you to save the file as a certain type. When you locate the box, make sure you scroll down to the ".jpg" or "jpeg" before you save the picture. When you save your next scanned picture, look around the dialog box and maybe you'll see what I'm talking about.

If you're totally confused, keep feeding info...we'll figure it out!

4. A question for computer buffs
Do you have the option to convert your tiffs to jpeg? Does your imaging software support this function? It is curious that it sometimes saves as tiff and sometimes saves as jpeg.
