No welcome back for the prodigal daughter

I stopped posting on DU Dec. 16 last year and started
posting at Dean for America. I had had a disagreement
with a Kerry poster here and was temporarily banned
until I explained my post. I decided to leave.

I changed my political party designation also
after the primaries.

While I will vote for Kerry/Edwards, I still hope for
a more progressive Dem platform and agenda for the
next four years. I didn't want the invasion of Iraq,
the money and lives spent there and don't see a
democracy taking place there with the people in place.
I will hope for the best, but felt that I still
need to be a messenger even when Kerry/Edwards take
their places in DC.

But where are the welcome backs from the ole timers?
No pals in the place for a prodigal daughter or is
it business as usual?

1. Hello!

and welcome back! I've had some trouble on other boards, mainly because of my faith, so I sort of understand what it means to get into it with other posters. Like you, I still feel Dean is the ideal person to get us out of this mess. I only hope that progressive ideas will have a home in the Kerry administration. Going into Iraq was wrong politically, economically, and morally. I am going around, telling people the truth about what has happened under Bush, and have made sure they are registered to vote. Most folks I meet are voting not for Kerry, but against Bush (the exception is my 84 year old mother, who likes Kerry because he wrote a letter to a little girl in the Dear Abby column). Kerry will have 4 years to show us if he is truly for change or not. Let us hope that he is.

Sorry if you seemed ignored, but wow it has been kinda busy lately.

I too hope for a progressive America.
We have a core caucus now, of progressives.
Let's encourage Dean, Kucinich, Mosely Braun, and Edwards
supporters to stay together and keep working for working Americans.

On edit - failed to mention Gephardt and Sharpton supporters, mea culpa. But you get my drift. We are strong, and our group gives those who have abandoned hope a chance to rejoin the political process of governing America.

I don't really remember you from before, but I'm glad you're back anyway. The candidate wars were pretty hellish, and I don't blame you for removing yourself from them.

I too, support the Democratic ticket, while at the same time, sharing many of the same concerns that you do.

You may find that there's not alot of tolerance right now for criticizing the ticket or the party, but I think that the things you are bringing up are both valid and valuable.

I feel very strongly that we will need to hold Kerry/Edwards' feet to the fire after they get elected, and do our best to not let them get away with business as usual.

You will probably get flamed for saying some of the things you do, but I would encourage you to continue, as long as you do it in a respectful manner.

I myself am too chickenshit to say some of the things I really feel on this board.

I've only been here since Jan 04. But Welcome back.

AS a Dean supporter myself, I know what you mean on certain points but I have my complete faith in the Kerry/Edwards ticket that they will give us our country back and they will get us out of this mess.

They have a lot of work to do but I trust them with my country.
