Has anyone else NEVER owned a mop?

I've never owned a mop. Neither at my parent's house, or when I lived with roommates in college, or now, living at my parents' house again.

I have NEVER owned a mop. I have suddenly become aware this is pretty strange. I scrub the floors on hands and knees.

Anyone?

1. I have owned mops, but I prefer to scrub with a brush.
I do not currently own a mop.

2. I've never owned an iron
I do own a mop, but if for some bizzare reason I am motivated to use it I usually end up on my hands and knees anyway...

Hey mjean...dig the new tag. Makes you sound like a super sexy secret agent. :D

Luckily, they showed me how during my training at the college dining hall.

My hair was pretty moppy itself until I buzzed it a few days ago. It's SO much more comfortable in this heat. :hi:

15. You poor deprived child.
I suggest the Mop-O-Rama 4000...it is the latest, souped up model of mops. The best in it's class. Never misses a piece of dirt.

I really do need a mop, is that a real one?

I think I want a "Squiffer Wet-Jet" actually! Those look cool on TV, has anyone here used them? :D

19. I have the Clorox version
the Cloron Ready Mop. I love it and in fact mop my floors (kitchen and back porch) more often b/c I'm not lugging around a heavy pail full of dirty water.

The rest of my floors are hard wood and get polished with a swiffer. :D

17. Other people buy mops
and use them in the place where I live.

I don't own a mop. I wouldn't know what to do with it. I clean up spills with paper towls and clean the floor with a bucket and cloth. Mops just don't cut it.

you're odd, MS.

i learned to mop in the army, my technique is flawless:

drench floor w/ 1 gal of cleaning solution (pref=enzymic cleaner; cat yak)

let stand 10 minutes.

sweep cleaner around w/straw broom.

p/up liquid w/ industrial mop in semi-circ "swoops, flipping mop @ end of ea stroke. squeegee in industrial bucket w/lever as it saturates

drench floor w/ 1/2 gal *HOT* water

repeat p/up w/ clean mop (i keep 2 mopheads)

have a smoke/coffee whilst it dries

sweep up any remaining detritus on dried floor.

throw mopheads in washer on hvy cycle.

post some b/s on DU.

hi, mara. just getting up? :hi:

26. So, the fact that this thread about mops has gone over 25 replies.

is a testament to:

a) my thread creating genius?

or,

b) the amazing attractive power that a picture of a pretty woman, in this case Minnie D., has over the population at large?
