About the La Raza lady with her hand on Kerry's shoulder in this photo...
Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near? Just like me, they long to be close to you. Why do stars fall down from the sky, every time you walk by? Just like me, they long to be close to you...

Is that a warm, beautiful smile or WHAT? (No, I don't mean Kerry)...

(The full, uncropped version is on Kerry's site: http://www.johnkerry.com/gallery/bd_20040623.html)

2. More about the La Raza lady
Like what's her phone number?

For you Chicago DU'ers, I would urge you all to try and attend the Hispanic Leadership Conference in September/October even if you aren't Hispanic or Latino. I'm not, but I was involved with Hispanic/Latino groups in grad school and went twice - the last time in 2000, and while they try to be non-partisan like bringing in the democratic mayor of El Paso who was for Bush, it leans heavily democratic - Jesse Jackson was there as well as many, many more famous democrats. They have some good workshops and conferences and whatnot. I wish I could go this year. You'll come out of there feeling charged up.

3. La Raza?
Isn't that the group that all the right-wing radio guys always claim wants to violently cede all the southwestern states to Mexico?

5. Yep, and as a Western white, I fully support them.
After all, they've got more right to the land than the Anglos do (although the Indians have more rights than anyone to it).
