3. Joe's son is running for US House in PA17
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 07:03 AM by LynneSin
Which ironically is NOT the district where Penn State U. is located. Also ironic that it wasn't the area where Scott Paterno lived until about 3 months before he decided to jump in the race.

YOu want a real :puke: feast - go to Scott Paterno's website. This guy has never filed an income tax return for more than $10k/year salary and yet he was about to buy a $235k house in a nice neighborhood in the 17th so he could run against Tim Holden

Despite being a Paterno, he won the Republican primaries by only 35% of the vote (there were 2 others running against him). My mother, who lives in that district, voted for Hostetler in the repuke primary. She said he was a nice guy who was also a school teacher and (i'm quoting mother) 'some Fat Slob who pretty much went through life on his Dad's name, reputation and bank account'. My parents plan on voting for Holden.

Edit note: I've owned a PSU sweatshirt for ages and I love that sweatshirt. But when I housecleaned out my closet I tossed that sweatshirt in the bag of clothes I'm getting rid of. Maybe I'll check out the stores at UDel and see if I can find a replacement shirt.

5. This Came as A Surprise??????
Hell, he was a Republican delegate from Pennsylvania at the 1988 Republican Convention. He blasted Liberals abd Democrats as he railed "They're not fit to clean his (Bush I's) shoes."
The guys a jerk! Always has been.

6. I was wondering how Penn State fans felt about that. Bowden is
a big repug, too and it makes me sad. Even sadder, is that I think Spurrier is a democrat and that I probably have more in common with him than Bobby Bowden. Strange bedfellows indeed.

11. Spurrier is a Democrat?
Does this mean that I have to stop hating him?

9. My God, isn't that guy ready to retire yet?
Didn't he coach back when William Penn was a tailback for the Nittany Lions?

12. Back in the day...
When Joe started coaching they still used Roman Numerals on the jerseys.

10. Joe Paterno is a great football coach. But (1) He should have retired
about 5 years ago and (2) Being a great football coach is neither here nor there when it comes to political judgement.
