Poll question: Best decade for energetic music?
Energetic - something with a beat that's fun to listen to, isn't dull, doesn't induce suicide or inbreeding.

Therefore the 2000s' decade and the Country genre are out of the question.

1. If you don't like hip hop, there isn't much so far in this decade

The good music is usually real arty, has an oppressive, pretentious mood and has a whisper thin singer that must nasally mumble like he has a glandular problem. (Radiohead, Sigur Ros, et al). I like that stuff, though, it just doesn't kick my ass. :D

3. The best hip-hop was early 90s...
IMHO of course. "Public Enemy" was the best...

2. 1960's - It wasn't just the music, it was the experience.

4. Actually, I think the 2000s are better than the 1990s overall

There's a basic pop/rock resurgence. And country has good honky-tonk - but I've already gone over my differences with some DUers when it comes to music.

For just plain energetic music, I vote 80s for Madonna, Go Gos, Blondie, more Abba, Eurythmics, Bangles, Bruce Springsteen, The Cars, Cyndi Lauper - but these great artists aren't the rule, as the 80s sound sometimes got too big.
