Politics aside... who's the best action hero? I'm sure I missed lots of good ones, but that's what the "other" option is for.

But I think of him more as a Buster Keaton-type comic genius than an action hero...


But that's just me..

Bruce Lee's appeal was lost on me. Bad hair, obnoxious personality. Never struck me as a "hero" so much as an anti-hero.

Aren't heroes supposed to be likeable?

4. I voted Jackie too...

IMHO he's one of the greatest innovators of the action genre. His movies were more lighthearted to be sure. On the other hand you could see the craziest stunts and know that not only was it real, it was really HIM.

But if you want to go in another direction, feel free to use the "other" option, Cynthia Rothrock is a good one that comes to mind, or Lucy Lawless, or Lucy Liu... but I really think it's another thread.

Personally I don't think there needs to be a separate category for women. I think ideally men and women would compete on an equal stage... There are women out there who can be just as tough and powerful as any of those guys.

But then I'm big on androgyny, and *that* my friend *is* a whole 'nother thread. :-)

I think you misread my post.

I just personally wish there were more action *heroines* in the world and on screen.

Why do you take it as such an attack on your gender? I love guys, they're fun, wonderful... I just think they dominate the "heroism" industry a bit too much.

It's just the way the world is, of course... But I'm just SAYIN'... I sure think there is some room for change, there.
