2. He's working HARD For His Supper!

Hw'a working a *lot* harder than the birds are. I say we reward his initiative!

Get yourself a good squirrel-proof feeder (there are some that close when the weight of the squirrel lands on the perch) so the birdies can eat undisturbed and unrobbed.

THEN you get a really good squirrel feeder (or a non aquirrel-proof bird feeder) and fill it with peanuts, grain, acorns, etc. and watch your new friend enjoy his reward.

Now you not only have one feeder and birds to enjoy, but two feeders and birds and SQUIRRELS to enjoy ALSO.

We have birds, pigeons, rabbits, squirrels, prairie dogs and feral cats depending on us for the handouts and at night (which it is now) I can go over to the window... hang on...

Yep! Thre he is! our little bunny, nibbling on the corn we set out for him. He used to cadge the stuff spilled from the bird feeders. Now he has his own feeding area beneath a rabbitbrush (Chamisa) so that he is safe from hawks and owls.

You aren't being robbed of bird food, you are being given an added friend!

3. Ever seen "Daylight Robbery"?
I have no idea where it was first shown-- a friend gave me a tape of it.

Two hours of trying to come up with the ultimate squirel-proof bird feeder. Needless to say, the only thing that worked was a solid steel contraption with holes in it only large enough for the smaller birds.

They can climb greased poles, jump to any place in the average yard, and defeat any booby trap devised by modern mankind.

Fun to watch 'em do it, though. As long as it's someone else's feeder.

4. I feed squirrels. I like them a hell of a lot more than birds
You really gotta respect a creature that will talk shit and hook acorns at you. Birds, on the other hand, just squawk and try shit on you.

Squirrel Power!

Big squirrel fan. I love watching them take on squirrel resistant bird feeders. Birds got enough fans. I am with the squirrels. Birds are just left over dinosaurs. Blech.

For bonus points go squirrel fishing.

For the second time in a week, a big ass raccoon emptied one of our hummingbird feeders. But then it must of gotten close to a nest, because two Cat Birds started to divebomb it

8. The squirrels cleaned out my peach tree tor the 2nd year
in a row. They take them when they are still green so I don;t have a chance to get any. One even buried a green peach in a hanging flower basket. It is starting to piss me off. I may have to teach them a lesson or two.
