Yikes! I'm getting GOP junk mail!
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 07:28 PM by Ivan Zero
I'm renting a house and I keep getting Republican National Committee mailers addressed to the previous tenant.

I keep writing "Not at this address" but Mr. Postman keeps bringing more.

Any suggestions, creative or practical?

On edit: Any ethical objections to opening someone else's mail, even if it is just spam?

1. Sign up for more. That stuff costs money.
That is my creative and practical solution.

9. Noted and implemented
Of course, I'll purposely misspell my name to see exactly which other junk mail lists they sell me to.

2. Best I've heard on DU:
"Go Fuck Yourself" - "Dick" Cheney, June 22, 2004

Write it on every piece they send you, and mail it back at their expense. Even those idiots will get the message.

3. Stuff their envelopes with paper
the return address ones, and mail 'em back. It'll cost the GOP money.

Randi Rhoades suggested this yesterday, though I've heard of people doing it for years. A caller into Randi's yesterday mentioned that at the hardware stores, you can small pieces of flattened lead for super duper cheap, and of course, they're heavy. That caller likes to include those lead weights in the GOP mailings he returns.

10. I've heard of doing this too
And I love it. I think this calls for a trip to the hardware store.

5. My boss keeps getting calls
from some Repuke Congressman (not ours-I'm on snarling terms with him!)asking him to attend a fundraiser for Shrub. Knowing my boss's thoughts about the GOP (get them out of the White House and Congress), I finally asked the caller today, "Why do you keep calling s Democrat about wanting to see Bush?" She went blub blub blub and hung up!

mail them to the idiots.

7. Keep the crap coming please.
Let them mail you all the crap they want. I've heard that some people return the postage paid envelopes empty, forcing the repukes to pay the postage. It's even worth it to write a check for $10 bucks to some right wing nut group, because you'll end up on a big mailing list, and they'll spend a lot more than $10 soliciting more from you. Plus they'll include postage paid envelopes with all of their solicitations...

11. No no no - all F9/11 stubs should go DIRECTLY to the White House!
With that message. Don't waste them sending them to some mailing center that's likely contracted out the opening to some place in India.

Send 'em straight to the Criminal Asshole In Chief himself.
