2. This is bullshit....
the second frame says (pardon my translation it's been at least 10 years since I spoke French).

"I'm a member of the Iraqi opposition...with the help of the Americans, the regime of Hussein will fall. I am therefore a revolutionary, but I have been arrested"

Someone's scanned in some images from a Tintin book (I think Tintin in the Land of the Black Gold?), then typed in their bullshit.

5. You should read on before passing judgment.
The point the cartoon makes in the early segments is that Bush I encouraged resistance to Hussein, then left the rebels hanging out to dry when he refused to finish the job.

The remainder of the cartoon states that Bush II went to war with Iraq on a pretext at the behest of the oil companies; its quite funny and not at all bullshit.

9. Yeah I should have...
I realized that afterwards. Just got impatient...plus I was pissed to think that someone would even remotely consider Tintin supporting Bush....

but yes, It's quite a funny parody.

6. Maybe They DID Overwrite Old Illustrations
On pgs. 6 and 7 it shows a spokesman showing the collapse of the WTC as justification for the invasion. That alone convinced me it had to be original illustrations.

But on the other hand, a few of the drawings are repeated, and the political characters like George Bush and Kofi Annan don't look anything like them.

I still think it's wonderful. Page 18 for example, shows the weapons inspectors demanding an Iraqi open some suspicious containers, which turn out to contain crab (which the Iraqi assures them is "very good quality"). Page 19 shows Rumsfled furious that the Iraqis have accepted the UN inspectors. All the bullshit justifications for the war are presented in great detail in cartoon form. This is a classic.

4. That is Wonderful!

What an incredible parody! Full book length and absolutely true to form in dialogue and illustration.

I could not find an English translation. My French is terrible and it's much too long to translate for DU.

But the first page has Tintin as a dissident against Saddam in an Iraqi prison during the first Gulf War. He's about to be shot by a firing squad when the news comes in that the Americans have won. Everyone cheers Bush Sr and pledges support to the Americans. Then the word comes in that the Americans are allowing Saddam to stay in power and everyone shouts slogans supporting Saddam again.

The next section takes place in DC in 2002. A businessmen comes in for an appointment with Bush Jr and sees Tinitn sitting at the desk. Tintin says that the president has had a problem with a pretzel. The businessman starts telling Tintin about Iraq's oil wealth and how he wants to change the regime. Tintin throws him out of the office.

The businessman is next seen talking directly to Bush, who accepts his proposal.....

7. Be patient
As Kamika says, way too long to translate here. It looks like they're working on an English version, though. Stay tuned.
