Hurt like HELL! Zowey!

I put some baking soda on the bite. Any other suggestions?

2. I'm a WASP
...but I rarely sting. My biting wit has provoked comment, however.

3. Adolphs meat tenderizer...make a paste out of it.
Edited on Mon Jun-28-04 01:00 PM by SoCalDem
It contains an enzyme that will work the stinger out, and reduce the swelling :)

and ice... press the ice as firmly as you can without hurting the area.. That will alleviate the swelliing and take the pain away somewhat..

If you have any trouble breathing.. get to an ER ASAP..

If you have benadryl cough meds..take a swig.. the antihistamine helps

4. get some antibiotics ready
I got 17 stings a few years ago and some became infected. I learned that wasps are about as dirty as flies. So be careful--if you see the sting becoming inflamed, call your doc.

6. Is this your first time?
I got stung a few years back and found out that I have a severe allergy. I went into shock, stopped breathing, had to go get intubated in the ER. It really was not pretty.
From your typing I gather you are still breathing, or else you are the most dedicated DUer in the world.
I hope you don't get a bad reaction.
Good luck and I'm sorry.

7. First since adulthood...
Got stung a couple of times in my youth. How long did it take for your symptoms to kick in. Probably been about an hour, and I feel fine aside from a sore jaw (where the sting is)...

11. Pretty quick
I was in the hospital in about 30 minutes. It happened fast and I don't remember much. Maybe its b/c I was drinking at the time. Ahh, college.
anyway, glad you are okay.

12. LOL
Now THAT's a mental image. You're unable to breathe, but feel compelled to keep pounding on the keyboard to share the experience nonetheless.
