I NEED to see F911 ASAP, but I'm not in the USA...
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 05:40 AM by arcos
After reading a zillion reviews here at DU I definitely need to see Fahrenheit 911 NOW. Although we get most major movies a few days after the US opening, independent films such as F911 usually take much longer. Bowling for Columbine for example, was played here about a year and a half after it was released in the US. It was available on DVD at most major video rental chains, but not in theaters. I know the DVD will be released in a few months, but I don't want to wait that long.

Now... anyone know how could I get it? (I'll see it in theaters when it opens here, and intend to buy the DVD so please don't complain about copyrights. ;))

1. There was a rumor that it'll be available for free download
on Independence Day.

6. I LOVE COSTA RICA
What part of the country are you from? BTW, sorry to say your country was mentioned as part of the "Coalition of the Willing" in the movie. But I also know you folks haven't had any military in your country since your last civil war back in the 40s.

I visited Costa Rica back 2000 and fell in love with that country. We spent a day in San Jose, but the bulk of our time was at Tamorindo. I would love to retire to that city (btw, that is my go-to country if we progressives have to book from the country because of it getting out of hand here in America).

I don't know what to say about when you'll see the movie, but the DVD will be coming out in September!!

Lynne

9. I'm from San José...
We are sorry to be in the "coalition of the willing" too... in fact, the Supreme Court will rule soon whether it was legal or not to be included in it. If they rule it was not, the executive branch will have to ask the US to take us out. Most people here were outraged that our president supported the war.

I'm glad you liked it here! If it does get out of hand and you decide to come down here, let me know. I may be able to help you on something.

Thanks for your answer! :hi:

11. Well I hope they do that, I mean geez, they have no army!!!
And Costa Rica is such a wonderful place the people were incredible there.

So yes, Costa Rica was prominently mentioned in Fahrenheit 9/11 but if it makes you feel better, Michael Moore asked my congressman Mike Castle if his kids would like to enlist in the army and go fight the war in Iraq (which btw, Castle is the only US Representative from the state of Delaware)

7. Well, you can take your chances and try and find it on Kazaa
Or one of the other P2P services.

Be prepared to sift through a lot of bogus files.

If you find it, it'll probably look like hell, though.

But you did not hear that from me. Repeat, you did not hear that from me.

Always better seeing it in the theaters or on DVD. Bootlegs look like shit.

NOTE: I'm not advocating bootlegging this. But if it's not showing in your part of the world, I'm sure Michael Moore would have no problem with it. As long as you don't profit from it.

10. I've been looking on both Soulseek and Kazaa for a week...
I was able to download a file, but it is probably bogus... it doesn't even open :P

And yes, I asked because I'm sure Moore wouldn't have a problem... I would be happy to see it, even at 320x240 pixels... hehehehe.

12. Be careful doing that...
Make sure you have a good virus program and scan everything you pull from that site.

Places like that are computer virus heaven.

13. Definitely have a good firewall/AV

Norton does a good job.

Also use Peer Guardian (Google for link)

Also, media files usually don't contain viruses. Be careful with .exe or .txt files, though.

14. It's not on any of the newsgroups yet.
I can't find it from any of my usual sources. Very hard to keep things off the net but they are succeeding so far.
