Check out this beauty

A restored 2-8-2 steam locomotive currently belonging to the Grand Canyon Railway, but once was with the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad back in the day. My great-grandfather was an engineer for that very railroad, and whether he drove this engine or not, I can feel his spirit as it keeps on chooglin'!

Damn, I love old trains.

1. You much of a gamer, ZW?
I'm addicted to Railroad Tycoon II at the moment. I love running my own rail line.

3. You should be able to find it in a bargain bin somewhere.
Try BestBuy or GameStop. Make sure it's Railroad Tycoon II, not 3, as three isn't very good. You should be able to find a copy for $20 or less.

9. Thank you...

I needed that review.

I've been addicted to RR Tycoon II for a long time now. I can't play it as often as I want because when I do, I get so into it I lose track of time. I've been considering getting III but didn't know if it was enough of an improvement to bother.

Too confusing and no where near as fun as RTII.

that it isn't another damn pinnup. The lounge is like a 14 year old's bedroom wall tonight.

13. yes!
I live near the tracks that run parallel to the old Route 66 in Arizona. On summer nights with the windows open, you can hear the wheels on the tracks. :-)

What a beautiful old train. I used to drive a smaller version of this at an amusement park, years ago. I know you must be very proud of your grandfather. Thanks for posting this.

19. No, but they did make me wear a hat that went with
Edited on Sat Jun-26-04 09:29 PM by Rhiannon12866
my ugly orange and yellow uniform. I never wore it because it would just blow off. But the owner was sometimes around, and would fire anybody, on the spot, if he didn't like the way they looked. So I put on the hat. But, as usual, I lost it. I looked and looked for it, even going in one of the tunnels with a flashlight. But I was looking in the wrong place. It was practically in front of my face. It had blown under the train and was all wound around the wheels, covered in grease, LOL!:D

on edit: fixed typo
