Holy cow did Jon Stewart blow Stephen F. Hayes out of the water last night

He was on the Daily Show last night (no link yet for the footage) and Jon Stewart laid into him. This was not the poke and jab hahaha type thing he read Hayes the riot act and the studio was dead quiet.

He basically said that Hayes was an ideologue and irrelevant.

They even took a commercial break and Hayes stayed on for more.

Stewart said "If I say the following 4 things--they have sought WMD-they have funded terrorists-they have spewed anti-American rhetoric- and they have terrorists in their country right now...........Hayes shakes head thinking Stewart is serving up a softball.........YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHO I AM TALKING ABOUT Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, or the Sudan. Hayes tried to contradict Stewart on Iran and was quickly rebuked.

Hayes was totally out of it and said something about how it is hard to make those connections, Stewart holds up his book and says/asks "You can't make the connection?!?!?" (shakes head)

BAM!

Hayes was on Wolf's show a few weeks ago and Wolf was in full on whore mode. He kept asking Hayes if any of the circumstantial points Hayes was making could be a "smoking gun" and Hayes said NO but then was allowed to go on and on about how there must be something there-the BIG LIE in action. Wolf went right along with it.

3. Jon was on fire last night!

I thought he was going to let Hayes off the hook, but he was on his ass from the first minute - even joking about the size of the book.

It was a nice job by Jon - a shame he has to do the media's job for them.

4. The "fake" news show out does CNN

I couldn't find a transcript of Wolf's show with Hayes on it but Wolf just sat there feeding him more questions to get their theories out there.

The remarks about the book were funny and pretty much let everyone know how seriously they should take this "work"- the whole book is based on a 16 page report compiled by Douglas Feith. In other words this is just a long winded rehashing of OSP lies for mass consumption, but in bite-size form.

5. I was on the phone with another DUer while TDS was on last night.

As soon as "Douglas Feith" came out, I said, so it's just OSP bullshit, or words to that effect. The OSP could tell me the sky was blue, and I wouldn't believe them. (Especially today - it's a lovely shade of grey.)

8. I had the same reaction

before he came on I told my wife that he was just a cog in the RW BIG LIE machinery and when I heard Feith's name I actually laughed. Based on a 16 page report he was able to crank out 224 pages.

This book suffers from its horrible timing. Though it will still be cited and contrasted with dozens of other books and that oh so partisan 9/11 commision, this book will be used, and is needed so, by the never say die true believers who can now point to their true facts. Facts that rabid liberal George Tenet disputed. When I first saw this at the book store I thought it was a parody. Unfortunately it's not, at least not intentional. So remember to mention The Connection every time someone mentions facts instead of the higher truth.

9. I thought Jon should have asked him about the 9/11 Commission

and how they ruined the whole premise of his book in one fell swoop. I also wonder how many pieces of silver people like Hayes get for writing such crap. I could have a much better life (financially) if I could just get my pesky conscience removed.
