Poll question: Creepiest actor ever?
In honor of Mr. Vaughn's appearance on Letterman (and every other talk show on North American tv and radio), a silly poll. Figuring Walken will walk away with it, I'm throwing in names from yesteryear to give him some competition. I'd rather avoid horror movie guys, though, but I'll probably break down and put some on.

Creepiest actor makes for a delightful Google search, by the way.

2. I had to go with Walken
Now if you were to ask about the actor that just plain gave me the creeps, that I couldn't even stand to watch, I would have to say Charlton Heston. Yuck!

29. Swarthy is not an inacurate or derroggatorry description of Goldblum
The official definition I believe is dark comlplection but it's become to mean basically the meditteranian/semitic branch of caucusoids, which comprises many or most people who look typical of semitic jewish(which Goldblum is), as well as southern italian, greek, turkish, and arabic blood.

As far as Goldblum being creepy, I disagree, I'm straigt but I'll admit he's a pretty good looking charismatic guy.

30. Shadow of the Vampire!
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 01:52 AM by messiertom
A fine horror flick, one of the best vampire films of all time. The director character is hilarious, and brilliantly portrayed by John Malkovich (who, incidentally, is extremely creepy).

Unfortunately, I've never seen the movie that Shadow is about the filming of, Nosferatu, a German movie classic.

edit: screwed up the subject. erk.

52. Rickman's my hero, but when he's playing bad guys
he goes right past creepy and straight to menacing. The best, or if not the best, damn good enough.

After Priscilla, Queen of the Desert I can't much regard Stamp as creepy in the usual sense. I dunno, I generally regard him more as quirkily charming than creepy. I remember a foolish anthology series that Tony and Ridley Scott inflicted on Showtime for which he served as host and was certainly trying to be creepy, but I just went, "Aww, that's just Bernadette."

if anyone gets the chance, they should check out his film from the early 1980s called "Who Am I This Time". John Demme directs, and Susan Sarandon co-stars. It is one of my all time favorite films, and he is definately not scary.

Yesterday I was just hunting to see if that PBS movie was available on video!

I saw it twice back when it was first released (1988?) and loved, loved, loved it, but have never seen it since.

I did find out it is available on VHS. I just may pick up a copy.

Christopher is amazing in that. :)

Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 02:08 AM by Bridget Burke
The "true" story of the making of Nosferatu. What if the director hired an actor who was a real vampire? Featuring John Malkovich as director F W Murnau, Willem Dafoe as Max Schreck. Sort of a horror film, funny in a very dark way.

I noticed that no one has cast a vote for Anthony Hopkins. Hopkins is not really creepy, but if you ever saw him in "Nixon", he really made Tricky Dick look creepy. If that movie was based on fact, and not just Oliver Stones interpretation, then Nixon must really have been bonkers.
