Good coming out music?

Anyone know any good tunes of liberation and peace?

I've been listening to Ké's "I am" and "Shiny" lately

(Flame me if you will, but I like them!!)

Thanks!! And no more vanity threads for me today. :-)

OK, actually only if I take your threat title literally. I woudln't recommend it otherwise.

I always though that was a pretty good song. I played it for my nine-year-old cousin a few weeks ago, he said it was "gay".

So there ya go.

32. This one?
:silly:

When Brian Boitano was in the Olympics
Skating for the gold..
He did two Salchows and a Triple-Lutz
While wearing a blindfold..
When Brian Boitano was in the Alps
Fighting Grizzly Bears..
He used his magical fire breath
And saved the maidens fair..

So what would Brian Boitano do..
If he were here today?
I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two..
That's what Brian Boitano'd do!

When Brian Boitano travelled through time
To the year 3010..
He fought the Evil Robot King
and saved the Human Race again
And when Brian Boitano built the pyramids
He beat up Kublah Khan..
Cos Brian Boitano doesn't take shit
from a-ny-bo-dy!

15. "I Was Dancing In A Lesbian Bar" . . . Jonathan Richman . . .
Well I was dancing at a night club one Friday night
And that night club bar was a little uptight
Yeah, I was dancing all alone a little self conscious
When some kids came up and said, "for dancing come with us."
And soon...

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

Well I was dancing in the lesbian bar
In the industrial zone.
I was dancing with my friends
And dancing alone.
Well the first bar things were alright
But in this bar, things were Friday night.
In the first bar things were just alright.
This bar things were Friday night.

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

Well I was dancing in the lesbian bar
Way downtown
I was there to check the scene
And hang around
Well the first bar things were stop and stare
But in this bar things were laissez faire
In the first bar things were stop and stare
In this bar things were lassez faire.

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

In the first bar folks were drinking sips
But in this bar they could shake their hips,
In the first bar they were drinking sips
In this bar they could shake their hips.

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

(Guitar)

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

Well in the first bar, things were okay
But in this bar things were more my way
In the first bar things were just okay
But in this bar things were done my way.

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

Well in the first bar things were controlled
But in this bar things were Rock and Roll
In the first bar things were so controlled
In this bar things were way way bold.

I was dancing in a lesbian bar.
I was dancing in a lesbian bar.

16. 'Free' by Phish
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 04:46 PM by WilliamPitt
I'm floating in the blimp a lot
I feel the feeling I forgot
Swimming weightless in the womb
Bouncing gently round the room
In a minute I'll be free
And we'll be splashing in the sea

I feel no curiosity
I see the path ahead of me
In a minute I'll be free
And we'll be splashing in the sea
We hear a tiny cry
As the ship goes sliding by

Free!

From the 80s,....gay new wave music.

Bronski Beats "Age of Consent" was a classic...possibly one of the first totally out-of-the-closet rock albums (ok, new wave).

Freedom
Loveboat LP

Freedom will come
To real love
Heaven will come
For real love

Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah
Run away when it hurts, from the things that we do
Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah
Don't know why we cry, run away from the truth

Children of new men
Colours of human kind, in shadow
Good is your loving
Growing and sharing storms

Believe
You've got to believe

Calling the day freedom will come
And we will arise to real love
Day by day, heaven will come
And we'll survive for real love

Cherish the union, the light in a stranger's eyes
Your guardian angel will make all the wrong things right

Believe
You've got to believe

Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah
Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah
Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah
Do-Wah, Do-Wah, Do-Wah

Calling the day freedom will come
And we will arise to real love
Day by day, heaven will come
And we'll survive for real love

Calling the day freedom will come
And touch the sky in heaven above
Day by day, heaven will come
And we'll survive for real love

Calling the day freedom will come
And touch the sky in heaven above
Day by day, heaven will come
And we'll survive for real love

Calling the day freedom will come
And touch the sky in heaven above
Day by day, heaven will come
And we'll survive for real love

Hideaway
Circus LP

One day the boy decided
To let them know the way he felt inside
He could not stand to hide it
His mother she broke down and cried
Oh my father
Why don't you talk to me now
Oh my mother
Do you still cry yourself to sleep
Are you still proud of your little boy
Don't be afraid
You don't have to hide away
The boy he was rejected
By the people that he cared for
It's not what they expected
But he could not keep it secret anymore
Far from home now
Waiting by the telephone
There's a new world
You can make it on your own
Are you still proud of your little boy
Don't be afraid
You don't have to hide away
Don't be afraid
Love will mend your broken wing
Time will slip away
Learn to be brave

Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away
Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away

Give me hope
Give me all your love
Tell me now
You’re coming home tonight
Have some faith
In the love we share
Is it fate
Does darkness end in light

Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away
Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away

Where’d you go
Did you loose your way
Tell me now you’re coming back to stay
In my hopes
Paradise is real
Horoscopes
Can’t forecast how we’ll feel

Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away
Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away

Give me hope
Give me hope

Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away
Never been closer to heaven
Never been further away

Give me hope
Give me hope

Go West Lyrics

Come on, come on, come on, come on

(Together) We will go our way
(Together) We will leave someday
(Together) Your hand in my hands
(Together) We will make our plans

(Together) We will fly so high
(Together) Tell all our friends goodbye
(Together) We will start life new
(Together) This is what we'll do

(Go West) Life is peaceful there
(Go West) In the open air
(Go West) Where the skies are blue
(Go West) This is what we're gonna do

(Go West, this is what we're gonna do, Go West)

(Together) We will love the beach
(Together) We will learn and teach
(Together) Change our pace of life
(Together) We will work and strive

(I love you) I know you love me
(I want you) How could I disagree?
(So that's why) I make no protest
(When you say) You will do the rest

(Go West) Life is peaceful there
(Go West) In the open air
(Go West) Baby you and me
(Go West) This is our destiny (Aah)

(Go West) Sun in wintertime
(Go West) We will do just fine
(Go West) Where the skies are blue
(Go West, this is what we're gonna do)

There where the air is free
We'll be (We'll be) what we want to be (Aah aah aah aah)
Now if we make a stand (Aah)
We'll find (We'll find) our promised land (Aah)

(I know that) There are many ways
(To live there) In the sun or shade
(Together) We will find a place
(To settle) Where there's so much space

(Without rush) And the pace back east
(The hustling) Rustling just to feed
(I know I'm) Ready to leave too
(So that's what) We are gonna do

(What we're gonna do is
Go West) Life is peaceful there
(Go West) There in the open air
(Go West) Where the skies are blue
(Go West) This is what we're gonna do

(Life is peaceful there)
Go West (In the open air)
Go West (Baby, you and me)
Go West (This is our destiny)

Come on, come on, come on, come on

(Go West) Sun in wintertime
(Go West) We will feel just fine
(Go West) Where the skies are blue
(Go West) This is what we're gonna do

(Come on, come on, come on)
(Go West)

(Go West)
(Go, ooh, go, yeah)
(Go West)
(Go, ooh, go, yeah)
(Go West)
(Go, ooh, go, yeah)
(Go West)
(Go, ooh, go, yeah)
(Gimme a feelin')
(Gimme a feelin')
(Go West)
(Gimme a feelin')
(Gimme a feelin')
(Go West)
(Gimme a feelin')
