Banquet makes a line of frozen dinners called "Sports Bar Favorites" or something similar. My burned-out brain remembers pulled pork on flatbread with cheese fries, beer-battered chicken fingers with cheese fries, and there's one other but I'll be damned if I can remember what it is. Barbecued ribs and cheese fries sounds about right but it probably isn't.

Anyway, they're not sports bar-grade cuisine, but for frozen dinners they're damn good.

Here in the heartland, we are the grand champions of beer-battering and deep frying stuff.

A few months ago on SNL, one of the "Ditka's" characters (you know, "DA Bearsss!") brought Jimmy Fallon a serving of "beer-battered Communion wafers." It was the biggest laught I'd got from the show in years.
