2. Indeed! Whenever you need a sleezy white guy...
You can call on Steve Buscemi.

John Hawkes (the movie "Identity" and the HBO series "Deadwood") also works that way.

6. I can think of many. Powers Booth just popped into my head, as did
his Southern Comfort (I love that film) costar, Fred Ward. I still recall being chilled by Booth's Jim Jones back when that miniseries aired.

10. Jennifer Jason Leigh
Edited on Sat Jun-12-04 10:24 PM by NightTrain
Throughout the '90s, she starred in one excellent film after another: LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN, RUSH, MRS. PARKER AND THE VICIOUS CIRCLE, and DOLORES CLAYBORNE, to name but a few. The woman consistently delivered powerhouse performances that blew the Oscar's "Best Actress" contenders out of the water. And yet, Jennifer Jason Leigh has never even been nominated for an Academy Award, let alone been the winner of one. Fucking Hollywood.... :grr:

12. Yeah, I like her too.

She always chooses interesting roles, different roles. She probably hasn't been nominated because she tends to be in smaller, or less noted, movies.

Edited to add: I loved her in "Rush" and also in "Kansas City," a kinda weird gangster-type movie by Robert Altman. And of course, we can't forget "Fast Times at Ridgemont High."

16. Jane Alexander ...
Classy, has depth, substance, a certain look ...

Did a small part in "All the President's Men" among other things, never really hit it big. I wonder why she never did more and meatier roles.

She's unsung.
