Widow of U.S. Civil War vet dies at 97
Alberta Martin, likely the last surviving widow of a U.S. Civil War soldier, died of complications from a heart attack Monday at an Alabama nursing home. She was 97.

She was 21 when she married her neighbour, William Martin, in 1927. He was an 81-year-old Civil War veteran at the time.

4. Who was this guy?
He married a 21 year old woman at age 81 AND they had a child? Holy cow! I'm not sure if I should be impressed or repulsed.

At this part I had to look to the top of the article and realize they all lived in Alabama:

"William Martin died in 1931 and two months later Angela married her dead husband's grandson."

6. Yeah, he was more a pervert than a husband, huh?
But still being able to get 'it' up and keep 'it' in good working order is a feat in itself.

7. Yes, but the woman too...
I mean, she marries someone almost four times her age and after he dies she married his GRANDSON a few months later. What was THAT all about? Get these people on Gerry Springer! :spank:
