"It's Raining Men"... and other 'what were they thinking...' songs
Who came up with this ridiculous song... yikes. What other songs make you just scratch your head and say... "WHY?"

1. That song is a gay anthem...
I'm sure if you were in a leather bar at 2am & they played that song, you'd KNOW why it was created...

3. lol... okay I see it now
*dating self* I was a high schooler at the tail end of the disco era and danced around with no thought to the silliness of some of the songs... only to hear them later and wonder... Now I know!

4. I know. I mean, I love men
But the thought of them falling out of the sky in a torrential downpour scares me. :scared:

6. It's a GREAT song.
OK - so you may not take it literally. Maybe it just means there's a whole lot of men all of a sudden.

But even if you DO take it literally - so what?

It's a celebration.

12. Paul Shaefer once commented that he wrote that song for . . .
"a specialized audience" . . . meaning, I'm sure, gay men in the dance clubs that were so popular in those days . . .
