This is America, after all - people of color are rarely represented at the end of these things. Maybe if Fantasia looked more like Vanessa Williams, if you know what I mean. Doesn't matter if she's light-years more talented, which I understand she is.

Plus, all those "power dialers" I read about wanting to play spoiler...

2. From an Idol fansite....
"Hmmm, let's see:

A black former contestant writes a gospel song for another black contestant in a style that this black contestant is initimately familiar with, in which her relatives sing, and in which she has sung for most of her life, and who just also happens to be the judge's choice.

Is it any wonder that Fantasia had the better version?"

Welcome to America.

4. Plastic - even if she wasn't singing gospel
Fantasia is light-years more talented than the former child pageant queen. This is the consensus at the watercooler at work -- the crowd I hang with are all white, except for me, by the way.

Week after week, regardless of the format - disco, country, big-band...- Fantasia out-sung Diana.

6. I hope they voted!
Fantasia has the chops to sustain a long career. Diana, nice gal, 16, spunky. Out of her league. IMO.

8. LaToya was way
better than Fantasia or anyone else, I don't really care for either Diane or Fantasia. Diane is sometimes out of tune and Fantasia often squeals, should have been either Latoya or Jennifer Hudson. :-(

10. Well.....
I voted about 20 times for Fantasia....

I wasn't a huge fan at first, but the show really grew on me I guess...

They are both great, but Fantasia deserves it more...

Then again, it's almost better for her if she doesn't win. One of the guest judges (a big time producer) even said the other night "you don't even need this contest anymore".. meaning she has grown beyond the contest... and he also said if she came in to his studio and sang like that he would sign her in a second.

If she wins she'll be stuck with the American Idol contract which I think is probably pretty crappy and not all that lucrative and probably.. "they own you" if you go with their contract... (not that it wouldn't be an honor to win)..

If she doesn't win.. she's free to sign with anyone she wants and the world will be in thepalm of her hand.

Heyo
