Poll question: Do you like this concept?
A life partner who, as you wouldn't, wouldn't cheat or lie and be loyal, even if there are difficult times.
--

Now for a Hypno-Rant(tm):

A metaphysical dichotomy is tearing me apart. I want this sort of relationship but there aren't any guys who seem to want this. Or maybe there are but we just never clicked or found "mutual sparks", apparently the eye chemistry is important... Or they don't take the time to really get to know me. Am I really a terrible guy?

Of course, all the guys who want it seem to have little "shopping lists":

* "Must be emotionally secure" :WTF:? We all have baggage, we all have emotions, we are not clone of Mr. Spock. Therefore people who say this are full of it and have no fucking clue as to what a relationship is, pardon my Freedom...

* "Must be financially secure". :WTF:? There's never been such a thing as a stable job in this country or world. Or does the partner who say this want free money? What about the couple helping each other to improve and enrich themselves?

* Must be disease free. :WTF:? Does this mean no AIDS? Or "No asthma, no eczema, no ADD, no whatever, you must be as pure as the boy in the bubble"? I can understand why though, especially if you are looking for a life partner.

* "I am relationship material". :WTF:? Especially when the first two are included. The phrase itself suggests the opposite. He's not relationship material. His little grocery list can never be met.

* "No femmes or fatties!". :WTF:? People are usually attracted to other people similar to themselves (and/or their mothers.) Why not say that instead and drop the insults? This form of immaturity is conclusive that he ain't relationship material.

Hmmm, I just thought of a new idea for a personal ad that'll guarantee I be celibate for the rest of eternity! :evilgrin:

Sorry, polls are turned off at Level 3.

1. I understand what you mean.
Do yourself a favor, and lay off the personal ads for a bit.
These sorts of relationships have all the disadvantages of asking
your aunt to choose someone for you, without the possiblity that your aunt has a clue.

Go grab some life for a bit, and see if a good catch might not sneak up on you.

It worked for me. My life partner knew me for a couple of years before makeing the first move, because the last thing I wanted at the time was a relationship. I was just too involved with other things.

Good luck, HT.
