Fucking holiday weekends

It's Victoria day up here....... four serious accidents in three days. Today was the worst...head on collision... A 77-year-old was killed, I saw her arm moving while they used the jaws of life on her car, so I assumed she had lived. A half hour after I got back to the office, a report from the cops said she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

If she was dead on scene or something it wouldn't seem so creepy. But now I saw someone who was ABOUT to die, which is spooky, but really oddly...I'm not too affected. Maybe I'm getting used to all this death. What I found most sad at the scene was a seven year old boy being comforted by a paramed and his grandma while he was bleeding out of his mouth.

Lots of folks will be out on the roads and I've got drive in that shit for my job.

2. Even after the accident

I heard the cop say on the radio, "Look at these people, they sat on a closed highway in front of that mess for an hour and they're still driving like idiots."

3. I have a theory

I think most people aren't used to driving long distances. Therefore they are more likely to get tired or distracted on a long drive like many are doing on the holiday weekend. Many are driving on roads that they've rarely if ever driven on before increasing the possibility of driver error. Also you have to factor in the heavy traffic as increasing the odds of having an accident.

Oh, yeah. You can bet the cops earn their money on holiday weekends.

4. staying home...

the only gas I plan to use(after I visit Costco for my barbecue meat and veggies) is probably the propane torch to start my charcoal grill.... I detest driving during a holiday weekend....
