Seeking blog advice

I notice a lot of DU'ers have blogs and what I'm hoping for is advice on starting my own blog.
I admit that I'm nervous and don't know enough about blogs so any information you are willing to share with me would be most appreciated!

A little about my idea for the blog, report on the happenings in the US House of Representatives also their hearings at least all the ones that are aired on C-Span 1 and 2. If someone is already doing this I don't know about it.

What's made me mad enough to consider this is that I noticed a lot of bad things happening in the US House of Reps. that I think the media should of reported on and I couldn't find a thing about it. So, that's how I arrived at the idea but my one thing as I said before is that I'm nervous. I'm no Will Pitt or Atrios I'd like to be though :)

Sending letters and marching just isn't enough. It's important (I believe) that the Democrats work on taking back the US House of Reps. If it's just straight out telling the public the truth about what's being said and done in the US House of Reps. I think it may help.

If you think it's a good or bad idea let me know please. I do want your opinions!

I'd suggest reading several blogs on a regular basis, to get a feel for the style.

The easiest way to start a blog is at www.blogger.com. That's BlogSpot, they're the ones who host my blog. It's free, and easy.

6. thank you I will that's good advice I do read the blogs

I think it's more of a confidence thing for me and I'm going to check out that link now free is good :) I'm getting the DVR installed tomorrow so I've committed myself in that area of my plan. I'm just sick of complaining about what's happening and not feeling like I'm doing enough to help out.
