Great Teddy Salad recipe!

Take two slices of bread.

Order vegemite from Australia or get my mum to send you some from there.

Wait for UPS man.

Wait...

And wait.....

DING! DONG! Greet UPS man.
Ask him when he first started wearing his shorts. Was it May, April or early January?

Get the two slices of bread you got out earlier and either throw them in the garbage can or donate them to the nearest college doing a penicillin experiment.

Get two new slices of bread.
Take out butter knife from drawer.
Open vegemite container.
Scoop out huge dollop of black, sticky vegemite.
Spread on both pieces of bread to between 1/8th of an inch to 1/4 of an inch thick.
Then eat. YUMMY!!!

FOOTNOTE: If this is your first time at trying vegemite, have a gallon of fresh water on standby.

But what is Vegemite? Spoiled yeast? Rotten vegetables? Fermented mushroom curd?

Actually, the closest thing to vegemite I've tasted recently was this fermented fungus stuff I got served to me alongside a bowl of pho at a Hmong restaurant, so it may be fermented mushroom curd!

That's why us Aussies love to drink lots of beer, so that there's plenty of sediment to produce vegemite.

It used to be, in the Lounge, that people could post things that were not clever...just things like recipes or a rave about the weather. Just happy, upbeat stuff. It seemed nice to me, given all the awful stuff that appears everywhere else on this web site. I have posted twice lately...once about the wonderful weather and today with a recipe that I thought might be interesting to people heading into the Memorial Day weekend. Both have been parodied. The message I get from this is that these things are looked upon with ridicule. I don't think of myself as someone with a thin skin but...I guess, from now on I'll keep the happier things to myself.
