6. Book is at the printers
'Voyages Of The Vicky Mary' (And other stories you might wish you had never read). Eight and one half inches by five and one half inches. Believe it or not it came out to '180' pages on the nose. There are two hundred eighteen (218) little stories, 220,000 Words more or less.

Thanks so much for asking. I been looking for a good reason to tell!

9. Hey Angelus
Well we could do that I suppose. Unfortunately I have never met you. My name is oneighty, my friends call me 180. I got that name in the Navy way back in the last century. Tell us about YOU?

You should know the most about yourself.

I'll chime in when I've formed an opinion. ;)

10. Ah the list about me
is seventy years old. Too much to tell. I was born poor broke and naked in the old house near Geneva, New York. Been down hill ever since.

Downhill from "poor broke and naked"?

That must be a sad story.

5. Oneighty is a great guy
Intelligent, warm, good writer, lots of common sense and a good bit of uncommon sense as well.

And he's one of maybe three DUers who have ever sent me a PM, so he gets bonus points in my book, haha.

11. Yes, I still go every chance I get
Here's a blurry shot of me about a month ago down Sparta way:

I'm going down that way tomorrow, in fact. It keeps me sane. I don't go spelunking if I can avoid it, however: spelunkers are people who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground. I'm somewhere between 'spelunker' and 'caver' on the totem pole.

Oh, god, I've got the Spc. Graner thumb thing going on, don't I? I must go weep now...

19. Yeah, I was thinking about your friend when I posted that
This wasn't in his area, though I will be just off Coal Bank Rd. tomorrow - his area, as I recall. I never did look up his cave - there are literally one thousand caves in White County (well okay, 900-some-odd). The place is like a swiss cheese.

Gee, do my posts make me seem mature? I'm 38.

24. I was a Mineman by rate.
1951 to 1960. I was on a mine sweeper in Korea for a while and then with a mine disposal team. Then three years in Yokosuka Japan. Then into Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Deep Sea diver and Underwater swimmer. It was a BLAST!

Got anymore tales of Italian shoemakers to tell?

Or of train rides through upstate New York?

23. Tales from the shoe repair shop
There are many. Mostly though I wanted to tell about Mr. Guzzetta. He came over from Sicily at 16 years old. On 'The boat' they were given a banana. He could not bite into it and in frustration threw it over the side. He went to work in a factory near here where his foot was crushed and he lost his leg up to his knee. So he became a shoe repair man. His only son became the first Italian to be president of a major University in Ohio. Pretty darn good for a shoemaker's son Mr. FarLeftRage.

27. Mr.Guzzetta sounds like my Grandfather
The only difference being that my grandfather came from Calabria at age 15, and was trained to be a shoemaker... he was a good one.

My Dad often told me of various celebrities like Buster Crabbe, Veronica Lake, Lowell Thomas and Albert Einstein stopping in the shoe shop on Main Street...

Cheers to Italian shoemakers!
