Annoying noise using Internet explorer
After updating the computer all of a sudden I get this annoying blooop sound when I use explorer. I can't turn it off..I've gone into internet tools and turned off all sounds as well as in the control panel) Because I stream air america radio so can't turn the volume off. I was using mozilla but not all the sites I use (genealogy) work well with Mozilla.
Has anyone else had the problem?
I'm going

1. do a search on your computer for .wav files
when you find the offending one (click on it and it will sound the same) delete it or move it.

4. Try using Opera, Mozilla or Firefox web browsers
They are free, much better than IE and have built-in pop-up killers.

7. These days I'm partial to the Konqueror web browser...
Comes with KDE 3.20... But Mozilla is an awesome #2 as well - Mozilla is usually more compatible and forgiving with web sites that use nonstandard code...

I'd go into Control Panel->Sounds & Multimedia and look for any functions that a sound is connected to or simply select 'no sounds' for the theme...
