unless Diebold f*** up the election, with every (D) voter and Bush's approval ratings plummeting, we will win our fight.

But I haven't. Basically all of my friends outside of DU are non-political. That's not really a problem for me because they are my friends, politics or personal beliefs is not an issue when it comes to be going good friends.

most of my friends are apolitical as well. I have had some influence in convincing them to vote Dem in November. The three I wrote of had lukewarm feelings for Bush, so I set them straight. One was a lady I work with. One was a neighbor. One was an old friend. This new one is a good friend, but I think I winning the battle for his 'heart and mind'.

No hard core Freepers mind you just a few undecideds who did not like Bush and planned not to vote at all.
They thought Kerry was some kind of radical NE liberal freak or something.
Considered the way many anti-Kerry folks feel I always find that funny.

| 5. Bush has done a great smear job |

with Hannity, Limbaugh, Fox News, Ann Coulter and other hooligans constantly giving lip service to this nonsense, the American public has been decieved. One of my buddies thought that he was going to have to face an enormous tax increase, until I explained about upper class tax cuts, Kerry's 2 percent plan, social security, defecits and the 7 trillion dollar national debt.

but he is the old school kind of conservative and can't stomach the corruption. It wasn't as hard of a sell as I expected. Plus I told him I was pretty sure that if Bush were to be re-elected they would bring back the draft. I think that did it. Carol

most republicans I know are of that stripe--small government, accountability, laissez faire and low tax I do not know any FReeper types---religious right, bigoted intolerants.
Unlike most prominent GOPers, most of the ones I know are opened minded and libertarian
