16. That's the one.
"I'm doing OK. How about you?"

The other is "I'm having happy hour here," which is untrue because it's rarely happy nor does it last merely one hour. :D

5. sorry, I don't have time (money)
Which is actually a partial truth; I just don't finish the sentence.

The truth might be, "Sorry, I don't have time for you!

"Sorry, I don't have any money for you!

Cher

Several times per week in Las Vegas sportsbooks, when someone I don't know or don't trust asks me for a small "loan", i.e. donation.

12. I'm doing alright
Seems like that's always my knee-jerk response when asked "How are you doing?" even when nothing could be further from the truth. But maybe since pretty much everyone says that one it isn't considered to be a lie, but simply some sort of cultural norm or something. I dunno...

21. "Maybe people only ask you how your'e doin'
cuz that's easier than lettin' on how little they could care."

Jackson Brown

And it's easier to tell them "I'm alright" because you know they would probably be horrified if you went into detail about how you really felt.

17. Sure, I love the way tatooed women look. Piercings, too.
At least we're nearing that decade mark where Born-Agains will finally catch on to the trend. About three days after that happens, unexplained blank patches of scar tissue will be the new in thing to have on Venice Beach.

"Yes, you look fine".

I actually have no idea. I have a geek's fashion sense. You could be planning on wearing pajamas to a fancy-dress ball and I'd think it was just a bold fashion statement.
