3. Tantris and I have the same sleep pattern! Very cute photos :-)
The wife says if I learn to pick up after myself I can get another dog!

And her memory is going faster than mine - so I think I'll get a new dog and tell her it is the old dog!

:-)

Sigh - I do miss my pets!

In any case great photo's!

:-)

Do you know how hard it is to get fish to be still and let you take pics of them?

9. nice mushroom rock!
I keep a reef tank, too, but my favorite mushroom-covered rock got wiped out in the 6 days without power last winter. Sucked. And stunk real bad when the heat came back on. Now it has just one survivor of a mushroom on it, and it does not appear willing to propogate. G*ddamned weather.

10. Did you notice my glass anemone infestation?
Talk about propogating. Dang things are like hydra....cut off one and 8000 take it's place. Don't believe it when they tell you it's bad water conditions that cause them to spread. I had clownfish breeding at the time those nasty things were spreading through my tank.

I finally introduced them to a Raccoon Butterfly fish that made short work of them in about 3 weeks......

12. yeah, they can take over a tank pretty quick
I used to have aiptasia anemones in my sump (I grow caulerpa in the sump to keep from having to use a protein skimmer), but a couple of peppermint shrimp made quick work of 'em. Isn't natural pest control great?

14. I hope so....
Tantris and Mariko are both seniors (so is Xantha, but less so).

Tantris is about 11 years old now and doesn't get around too well. I adopted him about 9 years ago from animal shelter.

Mariko is practically ancient. She has been with me since 1986. She looks pretty good for a 17 year old. She sleeps a lot too now, but gives me a lot of love and I return it to her since she has really been my constant companion all of my adult life.

Thanks for sharing.

15. One more here.....
Edited on Tue Aug-19-03 08:48 PM by liberal_veteran
Logan is new to the family and is semi-feral. He has no front claws and was being beaten up by cats in the neighborhood of a friend and was all skinny, but he seems to be adapting well. He was giving me dirty looks for posting pics of the other kids. I named him Logan after he decided to take a bite out of my boyfriend and caused him to be on antibiotics for a couple of weeks when the bite became infected. My boyfriend learned to NEVER pick up an angry cat again.

This is the one that has the unnatural attraction to a towel that has become his new best friend that he kneads all the time.....

20. She was also a stray I took in...
Edited on Tue Aug-19-03 08:57 PM by liberal_veteran
She was living out of a dumpster at a store I worked at when I first got to town.

After about the tenth time she came begging to me for food I picked her up and realized she had been declawed I took her home. She has been living with me for 12 years now.

I have a habit of taking in stray animals.

I have 2 other dogs and 2 other cats not pictured yet.

22. Mariko looks just like a cat I had...
My cat's name was Newman. He was a bit bigger than your Mariko, but looked very much like him. We had to put him to sleep this past January. Seeing your Mariko brought a small to my face.
