Do you know anyone who actually likes COPS?
The only people I know who like the show are people who were in rehab with me, as they were wondering if there would be any of their own friends on the show. Other than that, I don't know anything more depressing than watching a Bush speech.

1. I know of one thing more depressing
I remember on the first day this Iraq war started. I remember seeing people sitting in their living rooms, cheering rapaciously as the bombs fell on Baghdad. THAT was the most depressing thing.

2. I've only seen COPS about 4 times
And each show featured some guy stoned out of his gourd up a tree and without a shirt (or pants). Is this common?

3. If you appear on COPS and are missing a shirt
Odds are that you'll be going downtown before the end of the show.

4. Cops is usually boring
But when they are videotaping in my hometown there is always exciting stuff. I remember an episode where two people in a truck pulled a beer run, cops happened to be in the corner store parking lot at the time and one officer grabbed on to the door but the truck wouldn't stop which they ended up dragging the officer. The other officer got someone in the back of the head after he fired a couple shots. They didn't get very far, they were stopped in a residential neighborhood not to far from me. There were 40 cops! Helicopter, and police dogs everywhere when they got the two people who all they did to begin with was a beer run. The passenger ended up surviving the shot but wow that was interesting. I actually have seen 2 people on cops, one who used to work at the old 7-11 nearby. That was some funny as shit right there.

5. Unfortuately, I do
My husband watches that show as often as he can - and since it is on a hundred times a day, he watches a lot of it. I get up and leave the room. See how important you guys are to me?

6. I know a sheriff, a retired cop, and their son who all LOVE the show.
But they are the only ones I know. They just like to laugh at the really dumb things some of the criminals do. I don't like COPS, but sometimes I do admit to getting a chuckle out of the show "World's Dumbest Criminals."

7. COPS was a guilty pleasure
for my roommates & me in college. You just can't script some of the stuff on there.
I do blame Cops, however, for the onslaught of reality programming that has since taken over television.

10. I like to watch it for the tactical errors the cops make regularly
No wonder so many cops get killed in this country..Watch any episode and you will see at least 3 segments where the officer is too relaxed (even in pursuits) and make what can be fatal errors when confronting the bad boys bad boys...

11. I hate it
It's a sick kind of voyeurism - watching someone's worst moments for your personal entertainment.

I also hate the show because it reminds me of this countries screwed up drug policies.

15. Off topic, but I took a look at your Web Site...

"I Love My Olives," "Saucer over the Desert," and "Joshua Tree Sunset with Lizards" were a few of my favorites, as well as any of the stuff with cats.

I like your approach. Keep it up. I salute you!

:toast:

Edited for spelling.

13. It can be interesting to observe how the police operate in...
...different parts of the country. Some places are more passive while some are very aggressive. I remember watching a car chase filmed here in Texas. The suspect would not pull over even with the police car right on his tail. The officer finally just rams the suspect and knocks him into a bar ditch.

Don't Mess With Texas! :)
