Rats
My little albino medium rat just had a litter of ten! Yikes! Anyone need a good pet?

1. I love rats, but
Janet won't let me get any... When I lived in Minneapolis I used to bike thru this neightborhood (Hopkins) and these kids usually had a lemonade stand set up. If you bought lemonade they let you hold a rat!!! Seriously... They had a serious bidness going...

3. Sorry I hate rats
Fortunately, I've never had to come face to face with one. They scare me more than spiders and bats put together. :-(

6. I'm still sad...
One of my rats died. I had two...down to one...but they aren't those skanky rats that you find in the sewers. They were white with brown heads with a stripe down their backs.

9. I like hampsters and gerbils
I suppose a nice white "mouse" might make a nice pet.

When I visited my family in NY as a little kid, they would tell me stories of "subway rabbits" big rats that grew large eating garbage. I've had a phobia of them ever since.

13. Yup!
Rats are way cool! Had two pet ratties, Gidget and Fidget years ago. They were super affectionate, friendly and well-behaved.

PLUS... rats don't stink like mice, hamsters and other typical small pets.

I once lifted Fidget WHILE she was giving birth (I obviously didn't know it at the time) and she VERY LIGHTLY nipped my finger to let me know. Once she was done birthing, she let me handle every baby. She was a sweetheart.

16. I love ratties, but
unfortunately, so do my three large and predatory cats - and not in the same way. It would not be kind to subject a rattie to the catmonsters.
