Starcraft!
I just started playing the Starcraft/BW campaigns again. Every once in a while, I have to dust off those CDs and remind myself what a fine video game that is.

Starcraft

1. Hey Org

I should have known it was you when I saw the title of the post. I clicked on it because I wanted to read something that wouldn't depress the shit out of me for a change. Pretty fucked up days eh? Anyhoo, Starcraft is great. Been quite awhile since I last played, but it's a good game from when Blizzard still had most of their good people. I'm representing for Sony again tomorrow at E3. Cheers,

BB

Edit - Ha, I guess your name being displayed next to the title of the thread is another reason to figure it was you. I'm fried right now.

2. Haha! I'm flattered
So you're a Sony rep at E3? Hey, now, that's gotta be pretty fun. Then again, I've never worked the gaming industry, so I associate video games with pure fun. Could be another working day for you.

In all honesty, I've been tempted to get a console system just to play Blizzard's Ghost platformer. Not that I expect the gameplay to be so incredibly great, but Blizzard games just have a way of telling a story that makes me want to know more. And Starcraft has one of the hookiest storylines ever.

Imagine living in a Confederate or UED colony! Now that would be fucked-up days, for sure, but it's fun as all heck in the gameworld.

3. Is Starcraft as good as the Diablo series?
Do I sense a future purchase?

5. Better, IMHO

Diablo, well, it gets old for me after a few months. The gameplay is quasi-linear, techniques repetitive, too many egos when I play online.

But Starcraft is seriously demanding -- it's like speed chess, with a hundred different chessboards and three completely different sets of pieces. The campaign story is head-and-shoulders above what you get with most strategy games, easily on par with a good RPG. And then there's PvP...

4. Never played it myself.
Isn't it just Warcraft in space?

6. Sure, it's "just" Warcraft in space. Now imagine how cool that is.
Starcraft blows Warcraft II away. You've got to try it to understand.
