1. Wow, that is sad.
Not to make a pun, but Alan King was the king in so many ways.

What a great talent.

5. A Godfather Of Comedy
He was great on TV. I can only imagine how incredible he was, working blue in Vegas.

6. My favorite King moment
In "Bonfire of the Vanities" (OK, I know it sucked, but he was good in it) when his character laughs so hard at his own story that he has a fatal heart attack.

9. I checked on news.google.com
but the only Andy King they had stories on was the manager of Swindon Town Football club.

My faith in Google is shattered.

11. I Was Thinking About Him The Other Night
In one of his routines, he talked about an uncle whose reaction to everythign was "No shit!" And when this uncle died the person given the eulogy started by saying "(uncle's name) is dead". And someone in the back of the room called out "NO SHIT!"

Godspeed, Alan, and thanks for the laughs. You'll truly be missed.

13. I met him many years ago in North Miami Beach
He was appearing at a night club in a hotel in North Miami Beach. The father of the guy I was dating managed the hotel. After the show, he took us all out to dinner in North Bay Village. Yes, he was a great guy. He called everybody "Sweetheart," even the waiters.
