3. Many years ago I drove through it on the way to California
with my husband. Our car broke down just outside of Phoenix. Two policemen towed us into the city to a garage. They told us that we should stay in Phoenix and forget California. So I can say that Arizona has nice cops.

5. Valley Fever Center
Really, my mother-in-law who is the gentlest kindest person in the world was struck down by Valley Fever and was truly not expected to live, the doctors in California used some of the therapies developed by the researchers in Arizona at the Center. She's not really out of the woods yet but she's looking 100 per cent better.

Sorry couldn't be more upbeat but thought I'd share that.

Oh, yeah the Center is desperately in need of funding-thank God we're sending all our money to Iraq somebody might have effected a cure for this or dozens of other diseases.

6. How about...
great shopping and restaurants in Scottsdale plus I love the old "snowbirds" (many Democrats among the flock) who winter in Phoenix.

8. Warmer than it is here
Spent a week in March there, when it was 90 and sunny every day. Came back with a wicked tan from watching Cactus League baseball games.

I don't think it will ever be that warm up north all year.

9. I loved Prescott!
I visited for a day during it's Pioneer Days festival. Phoenix was 104 that day, but Prescott was only 89. That sounds hot, but without humidity no one was even using air conditioning.

Prescott seemed like a nice small town to live in.

11. It was Mark Lindsay's best song, better even than "Silverbird"

It probably even ranks up there with some of Lindsay's Paul Revere and the Raiders material.

13. Arizona is going for Kerry?
Kerry's up well within the MoE in most polls, and, if he can find a way to connect to Hispanic voters and if Napolitano can campaign on his behalf, then he'll win.
