just for significance. I've never been a fan of Hegelian philosophy or any of its offshoots, though.

Folks who judge Karl solely on the Manifesto or Capital aren't really doing him justice. The 18 Brumaire of Louis Napoleon for one never fails to elicit more than a few smiles from me.

On the other hand, Groucho's work in materialist philosophy never progressed beyond the pedestrian.
