Folks who judge Karl solely on the Manifesto or Capital aren't really doing him justice. The 18 Brumaire of Louis Napoleon for one never fails to elicit more than a few smiles from me.
On the other hand, Groucho's work in materialist philosophy never progressed beyond the pedestrian.
