My Red Sox are just KILLING ME.
Schilling gives up a 2-run homer in the first inning, and then cruises through 6 uneventful innings. When (one of) your aces allow 2 runs through 7 innings, you gotta win.

Unfortunately, the Red Sox batters are making the Cleveland pitchers look like the second coming of Bob Feller. The Red Sox have stranded ELEVEN BASERUNNERS through 8 innings.

Cleveland 2, Red Sox 1, heading to the bottom of the 8th.

Between the 3-game sweep this weekend in Texas and this miserable evening (so far), I am officially getting depressed.

:-(

3. Aren't you use to it by now
Being a Red Sox fan I mean.

Sorry you're having a bad day but one should never look to the Red Sox for a pick me up!

4. Killing YOU? My Dad's 75, and this must be making him NUTS!
He once said he felt bad that his poor Aunt, a major Sox fan, didn't live long enough to see the Sox in the Series. My mother immediately responded "what makes you think you will?"

11. Game ovah. Red Sox suck.
Brian Daubach flies out, stranding the tying run at 3rd.
Boston batters go 2-for-13 with men in scoring position.

Cleveland 2
Boston 1
Schilling gets the "L." He deserves better than this.

I need a drink. Badly.

15. Cubs won 7-3 over Cardinals
Edited on Mon May-03-04 09:09 PM by papau
only the seventh time in their last 34 games at Busch Stadium since 2000

Maddux pitched seven strong innings, stole a base, got an infield hit and scored twice, while Sammy Sosa, Todd Walker and Derrek Lee homered for the Cubs, who split the four-game series (45,456 per game) despite scoring a total of only 14 runs. For Walker, the setting reminded him of last fall when he was with the Red Sox. "This series reminds me a lot of playing the Yankees last year in the championship series, the same identical thing almost," Walker said. "I think it prepares you for when you get to the playoffs.

"This is a little more mild-tempered than in Boston and New York where you've got people beating each other up in the stands, and that type of stuff." <snip>

13. LOBs. I can't remember a time...
...when the Red Sox didn't rack up disturbingly high numbers of LOBs.

Last year, if the relievers didn't blow the games for them, it was the lack of timely hitting.

We need Trot Nixon and Nomar back, healthy. Right now.
