Brothels Required To Hire Trainees

BERLIN (Reuters) - The German government's plans to levy fines on companies that fail to hire trainees will also be applied to legal German brothels, Der Spiegel news magazine reported Sunday.

Brothels failing to employ a certain number of apprentices will not be exempted from the financial penalties that Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder's government wants to introduce on all companies later this year, the magazine said.

The legislation drafted by the Social Democrats and their Greens coalition partners will fine companies that do not have one apprentice for every 15 workers.

Unlike in other European nations prostitution is not legal in Germany. It is not illegal either, but in a limbo called "sittenwidrig" - allowed but immoral, thus with no legal standing. For that reason very few prostitutes are in an official employer/employee relation.
The trainee-penalty will only apply to the official jobs, i.e. management(:evilgrin:), accounting and waiters.

The Meisterpruefung (master's examination) is what you sit for--or lie for in this case--to prove that you know your job. In the trades, you're required to produce a Meisterstueck, or masterpiece, in front of the examination committee. It is always a very difficult examination, and if you pass it you receive your master's certificate.

And without a master's certificate, you cannot open your own business.

So...what do you have to do to someone to earn your master's certificate in the job of Prostitute?
