US military displays new secret weapon.
OK, not really, but you have to admit, it's pretty neat.

In this photogrpah released by the U.S. Air Force, Robosaurus, a 40 foot tall, 30 ton mechanical robot breathes fire after eating a car during a demonstration at Airfest 2004 in this recent undated photograph taken at the March Air Reserve Base, in Riverside, Cali. The two day air show which took place April 24-25, 2004 features both military and civilian aerial and ground demonstrations. (U.S. Air Force /Tech. Sgt Joe Zuccaro, HO)

1. I saw this movie on a Saturday afternoon once
It doesn't turn out well. Tokyo gets destroyed, among other things.

3. Oh, come-on. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?
You just have no faith in science. I don't see the harm in creating a 40 foot tall armored robot and endowing it with a first-generation artificial intelligence and sophisticated weaponry and the knowledge of it's own mortality.

7. Can't we get those Monster Truck drivers and the Monster Garage
guys to help whip up some new assault force vehicles?

These guys can turn a six-pack cooler into an 8.3 quarter-miler for less than a grand, it seems.

So why aren't they the guys doing R&D for the military?

8. i think it would be cool to actually use that in a war
I mean, I'm sure the enemy would be hella confused, at the very least.

9. I thought it would be very helpful at crowd control.
I say next city that wins a major sporting event (NBA title, Stanley Cup, World Series, NFL championship, etc) send one of these guys there. If a riot starts, send Mr Chompy to eat a car and spew some fire.

If it works like in Japan, there will be a mass stampede out of the area.
