1. Al Bundy
I don't tune in to too many of those shows, but the Bundy Christmas episodes still make me laugh.

26. Homer Simpson
TV's most loving dad ever.

And as an antidote to Cliff Huxtable.

Mark Crispin Miller once talked about how the Rudy, Theo, et al. would some day all wake up (under a psychiatrist's care) to the realization that Cliff was a "subtle thug" who turned his kids into foils for his comic riffs and ALWAYS got his way.

2. I like the drunken, rambling Dad on Boy Meets World
He was a wild man - always hooking up with cocktail waitresses, etc.

10. Damn straight!
Blake Clark is quite the outstanding comedic character actor. And Chet Hunter explains just why Shawn was always so much cooler than Cory. Of course, who can be cool with a name like "Cory," anyway?

13. the show would've been so much more interesting
if it would've been about Shawn instead of nimrod Cory. Though, it was nice that Tapanga (sp?) got so much screen time.

16. I loved that show.
Topanga was a little young for me -- I was always a Maitland Ward fan myself (I forget her character's name -- the tall redhead that roomed with Eric and the Hunter brothers). Yummy!

Oh, and Will Friedle is a comic GENIUS. Ever see "Trojan War?" Basically a slapstick remake of "Some Kind of Wonderful" with Friedle and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Yeah, I know, it sounds hideous; but it's brilliant.

27. Maitland Ward - how did I forget her?
ah yes. Nope, never saw Trojan War. might have to look at it sometime - slapstick can be good.

but I had to go with Tom Corbett ... I had a huge crush on Bill Bixby for a long time, and I loved Eddie's Father for other characters too. Jodie Foster's "Joey Kelly" and Brandon Cruz' "Eddie" were pretty good too.
