Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 07:34 PM by Crisco
The only media outlet not afraid to come outright and call Rumsfeld a dick.

1. who cares if he's a dick.
He doesn't do his job properly, that's what is important.

it's like people saying bush is "likeable". Who gives a fuck? he's a terrible president, i dont' care if he's a complete asshole, do the job right.

3. Because of Media Fawning
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 07:50 PM by Crisco
If you look at the 'real' news outlets, they portray Rummy as some big dog (sorry, Bill) he-man. A man's man! A manly man! What exuberant display of testosterone our Defense Director emits! It's his whole mystique.

Stewart is the only one calling it for what it is: compensation - and deflates it.

Image is everything.

4. There's just no doubt it, the DS's the shizznit!
I think Jon Stewart & co have out-done themselves in the last few weeks. The matrix bit in reference to the Clarke book (he's The One) had me ROTF.

They even replayed the wierd moment when general Kimmitt did the face plant into the microphone earlier in the week. Seeing that gave me a down-the-rabbit-hole kind of feeling, but maybe that's because they seemed to run it in slo-mo. First heard about it on these boards, but I found nary a mention of it in the conventional media.
