when you accidentally step on your pet
and they holler and give you that brief look like you might have done it on purpose; oh that just kills me.

1. know what you mean...once I stepped on my pregnant kitty, she lost the
litter and couldn't do it alone...had to go to vet and get a hysterectomy. Absolutely terrible.

3. I accidentally stepped on my cats tail once
My cat let out a scream and scratched my leg up. I was bleeding like crazy. Poor kitty was just defending himself.

2. Did that last night...
..was leaving for work and she was lurking in the dark... didn't step on her, just kinda "stepped into her" with my steel toes... ouch!

she yelped and jumped out of the way... gave me THAT look! ..but I picked her up, gave her a hug and a kiss and she was her normal self in seconds... whew!

I can't stand hurting my pets. I pet them longer and make sure they are ok. It kills me.

7. Lordy
I almost stepped on my snake once. She'd slithered down onto the floor, and I put my foot down to get up. When I looked down, I realized my foot was only a few inches from her head. She would have been a dead snakelet. It scared the bejeebers out of me. Now, I always look to see where she is before I move!

8. Are you kidding?
How long have you had cats? That was no accident... they deliberately arrange themselves to give the appearance you've "stepped" on them... and then aggrieved and expect some special attention or treat. It's the oldest trick in the cat book.

More people should treat their animals as respectfully as they would a human.

I know for a fact they really do appreciate it:)

10. I sometimes think they intentionally stick one of their little feet....
under where you are going to step, just to make you feel even more guilty than they normally make you feel, for not doing absolutely everything they demand, the moment they demand it.

15. exactly.... it's a total cat scam
like when they hop between the regular door and the screen door at the last second and then pretend you "trapped" them there. More treats and hugs.

17. This morning I found the cat locked in laundry room
she was very angry. I petted her for awhile but I didn't have time for the endless attention she demanded. I took her up to my daughter and her foot got caught in a chair. Yeoww. She yelped, I got teary eyed, and ended up petting her for a long time. :eyes:

20. My puppy gets back at me
by hitting me in the back of my knees when I walk down the steps. I should teach her to dial 911 for the day she actually succeeds in knocking me over and I break my neck.

23. My Australian Cattle Dog
mix jumps up, stares at me with that "How dare you!" look and moves away from me.

He has really quick reflexes (only one year old), so he generally moves before I actually step on him.
