Whee! Only the car thing at the moment, but I'm looking to expand. :)

1. Everyone I know who has it seems to love it!
Like, even the actual music stations. My boss was telling me about it way before Air America, and my brother is a mechanic and has to activate it for people in GM cars - said it was really cool.

2. Congratulations!
I'm also a subscriber to XM. Unfortunately, XM does not have Air America's full schedule. They limit Randi Rhodes to one hour and add three hours of Alan Colmes. I've written XM about Colmes; his show is pathetic.

4. So, what's it actually cost?
It seems all their ads and web information seems to avoid saying exactly what parts are REQUIRED, and what parts are optional. There are receivers, amplifiers, docks, antennae, and other bits and pieces, but it's not clear what you actually need. Not to mention installation.

So, apart from the monthly vigorish, what did it cost you to get it installed in your car?

If you don't mind my asking...

5. Well, I didn't get it installed...$55.19 + $10 activation fee
Got the "Roady" at the QVC outlet. 20% electronics this month. In addition, my wife works there, so another 15% off. It's a little device you can mount in your car, and it came with the power adapter, cassette adapter, and the antenna. To activate it online is $10, and the monthly fee is $10. Well worth it at any cost, I think.

6. Does it sound clear?
I'd like to get one of those, but I was worried that it might not be as clear as the installed ones..I use my IPod in the car like that though and it works great.

Does it have a spot for headphones?

7. Crystal!
You can plug your headphones right into the jack on the side.

Coincidentally, I use my iPod the same way as well. :)

9. A review...
I have both XM and Sirius. (long story)

I prefer Sirius. I was happy to have Sirius left (less so when Mike Malloy went off).

Starting tomorrow Sirius will have both Sirius Left AND Air America.

Cool!

11. And Sirius is really building up the Sirius Left channel
Starting today, they're beefing up their lineup.

They're getting over the IE America mourning period and are making SL a formidable station. Lynn Samuels' show goes to five days per week, former San Francisco morning guy Alex Bennett has a 9-noon EST show, and they bring in Schultz and Colmes.

And, as terrible as Colmes is on FOX, his radio show is not that bad.

Now they just need to bring Malloy back.

10. What sold me on XM this morning!
The Music Lab station. Frank Zappa's "A Little Green Rosetta", a snippet of Todd Rundgren's "Breathless", Rush's "The Body Electric", Genesis' "Entangled" and Porcupine Tree's "Waiting Part 2" right in a row. I had to call my wife just to tell her about it. She found it quite scary that there's somebody else out there like me. :)
