Ow, ow, ow
Edited on Sun Apr-18-04 11:03 AM by eyesroll
So, the good news -- our MoveOn bake sales netted more than $400 (we had two small ones in nearby towns). AND we were able to donate the leftovers to the Sojourner Truth House, which is a shelter for victims of domestic violence.

The bad news? My face hurts. Sunburn and windburn. Specifically, my nose is all red and swollen. I look drunk.

Any suggestions? (Besides "use sunscreen," which I completely neglected yesterday.) Aloe doesn't seem to be helping.

6. Thats one option I suppose..
Not a real good one as the alcohol will further dilate the capilaries...

The aloe is working, you just need to keep it damp (try a plant mister, I'm serious) and keep reapplying it.

You may want to add a small amount of a cortisone cream to it too.

Make sure there's some *cane molecule in the mix.

This son of Germany, Ireland, and Great Britain sympathizes...

2. I would've said aloe, but
if it seems not to be working -- What kind of aloe? 100% aloe gel? That's what I use. It's the best.

Failing that, all I can suggest is frequent cold-water rinses to take the sting out for a while.

Sunburn is miserable. Good luck.

4. I've got 100% aloe liquid
I suppose it's too thin to stay put. I do have an aloe plant I could try (that I forgot about until now).

3. Vinegar and cool compresses will both help.
Dilute the vinegar 50/50 with water, and apply it to the burned areas. Cool, moist compresses will also relieve some of the pain. Tylenol will also help. :)

5. Thanks for that idea (and to everyone else who posted).
I don't normally tan, burn or do anything. I'm the rare fair-skinned person who actually isn't too sun-sensitive. This is an anomoly.
