I Had An Epidural Injection In My Neck Yesterday
Edited on Wed Apr-14-04 09:50 AM by CO Liberal
As many of you know, I was in an accident in February, and I've been having neck pain, headaches, and weird pains in my shoulders and arms ever since. The spine specialist I'm seeing recommended an epidural injection, and I had it yesterday afternoon.

Almost right away, the strange feelings in my arms were gone. But now I have a NEW pain in the center of my back, between my shoulder blades. And I'm a bit light-headed - I felt so bad last night, I was unable to go to my precinct caucus.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

8. I Hope So, Too
I've been living with pain on a daily basis for four years, and I'm sick of it.

2. you're in my prayers
I have had those shots in my lower back. I didn't reply to your query yesterday because it didn't work for me -- but other types of shots have.

3. Right Now, They're Still In The Diagnostic Phase of My Treatment
The epidural was intended to get some steroids in there to bring down the swelling. Seems I now have two herniated discs in my nect to go along with the two in my lower back, and they're trying to figure out the next move.

10. My husband had a couple of herniated discs
removed in early December.

It's not been fun for him. I hope you're soon well.

5. That's What The Pain Management Doctor Said Yesterday
He told me to keep track of my pains for a week. Next Tuesday, I see the spine specialist again, and we'll plan the next step then.

7. Thanks
I'm already scheduled to have an IDET procedure on the 27th to try and reapin the two herniated discs i have in my plower back from a previous accident.

I've been in three accidents in the past four years - none of which were my fault. Let's face it - thanks to other lousy drivers, I'm a physical wreck!

9. I've had a series of those.
Sometimes they helped and sometimes they didn't.

I can commiserate with your neck and arm pain. Oh can I ever commiserate! Have you had an MRI of your neck? Chances are something is crowding a nerve, probably a bulging disc. I have two bulging (or herniated) discs in my neck.

11. They Did A Series of MRIs On My Entire Spine
So I've been pretty well mapped. I have two herniated discs near the base of my neck, and two in my lumbar area. Things are crowded all over my back.
